Reviews for 2008 Honda Odyssey
I love my Honda Odyssey. It drives well. It gets great gas mileage for a minivan. It is perfect for my family and has plenty of room for hauling not only the kids, but cargo. The extra compartments are real nice too!
Euro Car Addict Suprised By Odyssey
Overall both my wife and I love this minivan. I am a big fan of European cars and have owned/driven many. I especially like German cars. So my standards for car performance are high. I never thought I would like a Honda, especially a minivan, but I do like this one. The layout of buttons/controls is good, car handling and ride comfort are also good. Storage and space is great. My only complaints are some quirky functionality of the remote power doors. But once you sort out the logic behind this functionality it is okay to live with.
Honda Beats Toyota
I just traded in a Toyota Sienna for the Honda Odyssey. I would recommend the Honda over the Toyota except for the transmission - the new VSA system on the Honda is weird. You constantly feel the engine drop from 6 cylinders to 4 and back to 6. This is a fuel efficiency feature but it is quite annoying. You constantly feel like the transmission is slipping. You can turn the feature off but it automatically comes on every time you start the engine. We always turn it off unless we are driving on a freeway. If you turn it off, a big triangle warning light stays lit on the instrument panel. Other than this quirky feature, the Honda outperforms the Toyota -steering is way better than Toyota and it just feels like a much more solid vehicle. A bit too many childproof features I think but you can get around those.
