Reviews for 2008 Honda Odyssey
Honda Beats Toyota
I just traded in a Toyota Sienna for the Honda Odyssey. I would recommend the Honda over the Toyota except for the transmission - the new VSA system on the Honda is weird. You constantly feel the engine drop from 6 cylinders to 4 and back to 6. This is a fuel efficiency feature but it is quite annoying. You constantly feel like the transmission is slipping. You can turn the feature off but it automatically comes on every time you start the engine. We always turn it off unless we are driving on a freeway. If you turn it off, a big triangle warning light stays lit on the instrument panel. Other than this quirky feature, the Honda outperforms the Toyota -steering is way better than Toyota and it just feels like a much more solid vehicle. A bit too many childproof features I think but you can get around those.
I love my car it is so much space and very easy to drive.
Best Van on the market by far
We bought our Odyssey in July 2008 with all features added on the EX-L model. It runs well and we have not had a problem other than a seat that shakes which Honda cannot seem to fix. The leg room and head room is great and the trunk can fit 2 medium and 2 large suitcases and a duffle abg without a problem even with the third row seats still up. It has a great stereo and user friendly navigation system. It is easy to drive and is agile when going around bends on a windy road. Parking is not hard at all and the backup camera makes it even easier. It can drive in upto 7 inches of snow due to the low ground clearance.
