Used 2008 Honda Odyssey Touring in Dulles, VA
Reviews for 2008 Honda Odyssey
Best car on the lot
We got to the car lot with all intentions of purchasing an SUV, but just before we bought the Ford Expedition we thought we should go at least "look" at what minivans were on the lot. Side note: we've owned a minivan for 6 years now and swore we wouldn't buy another. There were two vans on the kit that matched our price range and had the features we were looking for. A 2008 Honda odyssey and a 2009 Chrysler town and country fully loaded. Thr Chrysler was a nice van and had lots of bells and whistles, but it didnt convince us away from the SUV. The odyssey on the other hand had a distinct quality to it that you could feel as soon as you sat in it. The leather seats were soft. The sliding doors opened smoothly and without hesitation. The steering was tight and engine responsive. The list goes on and on. We felt a difference in quality between the odyssey and any of the other 15 cars we looked at that day including fords, chryslers, jeeps, volvos, and dodge. We drove off the lot disbelieving that we bought another minivan but now two months later are still in love with the van and know we made the right choice. The safety features are great, variable cylinder management is good on gas, and there is surprisingly so much more room than our old town and country. We definitely recommend this van!
Love my Honda!
I was one of those who said I would NEVER own a van! But then I drove the Odyssey, and it was over! This van drives like a car, and it has room for my boys, who are all arms and legs! I can't say enough about how much I love this vehicle. I have had mine for about 6 years now, and even though my kids are older, and I don't always need the space, I still refuse to give it up...I've never had a vehicle that I like as much as this one. The seat is comfortable; there is great head and legroom, even for my son who is 6'5" tall; we have hauled my son's college stuff in the back (with the middle seats removed, and others in the floor), including a double size mattress; there's not much you can't do with this vehicle. If you're considering a mini-van, get the Honda! You won't be sorry!
I reviewed the van on Edmunds.com prior to making the purchase who chose the Honda Odyssey as their first pick for minivans that year. We had always wanted the Odyssey but when they came out, the dealers were charging (and people were paying) more than the MSRP which was over our budget at the time. I am really happy to finally have one! So the van has the bells and whistles that make driving and using a van fun! With the two rows in the back, I can separate my kids which has cut the bickering between them. My 13 yr old tall boy is super comfortable in the captains chairs in the second row. There is more room than we technically need so we can all stretch out. I chose the van because I need a new hip and it is SO comfortable to drive! When coasting, the van's engine actually moves to and ECO mode that changes the workings from 6 cylinder to three, improving gas mileage. It handles really well. When I test drove the next best van, it felt like a boat! But the Odyssey feels as controllable as a small car. Finally, with the six cylinders, I am not the last pulling away from a light. I highly recommend the Odyssey for those with minivan needs. It looks sleek and handles great and fits anything you need to carry around.
