Great size! Not too big... not too small -- just right! Holds 8 passengers (tweens-teens plus adults) comfortably. Good on gas mileage. Recommend leather interior over cloth (especially if you have kids or pets). I previously had an Expedition and knew I wanted something a bit smaller without giving up the room. The Pilot offers lots of interior space with better than expected gas mileage!
This vehicle has served my family for 13 years. We've made more trips to FL for spring break than I care to remember. I do relate to the lack of cargo space other reviewers speak of, with two daughters a luggage rack topper and/or a trailer hitch platform was required, but that was only to provide each kid with a entire row of seating to eliminate fighting. I actually installed the tow package myself, as I did with the cross bars for the roof rack. Saved lots of money that way. The trailer hitch came in handy when moving the kids to Purdue dorms and back again. Oh the stories this vehicle could tell. 230,000 miles an no major issues, just maintenance of timing belts every 90k miles.
We got the 2WD and should have gotten the 4WD, but we were on a budget. It's a great car- love the rear entertainment center for the kids. Don't use the Navigation because it's tedious to set up a destination- easier just to use Waze on my phone. It was a great price for a Touring edition- but because it was 2WD- a car that was originally from California. Now I now why it was turned in. Not great in winter conditions. Won't make that mistake again!
