My Dream Vehicle
I recently purchased my 2008 Honda Pilot and absolutely love it. I had wanted a vehicle that I could take my 3 Grand kids in. I previously had a Honda Civic and that just wasn't large enough. With the Pilot, I purchased it on a Wednesday and we all went on a road trip for the next few days. It was great. Plenty of room inside and we also put some luggage up top for additional space. I was a little worried about Gas Mileage, with the pricing of gas, but that has been very reasonable. It has a larger tank than my Civic but it's still economical. I also recently went into DC with my friend. We took my Pilot, rather than his Toyota Sequoia. He drove, and we found parking pretty easily. My friend said that his truck probably wouldn't have fit in those parking spaces like my Pilot did. All in all I am VERY happy with my purchase.
Honda does not stand behind its product
Consumer Alert: I have had nothing but problems with my 2008 Honda Pilot! It has been in the shop 9 times and counting. I am so glad that I got the extended warranty on this car otherwise I would be out thousands of dollars in repairs. I have been trying to deal with Honda Corporate and have been getting the run around. They do not want to discuss that this car is probably a lemon. Based on the other reviews on this site, now I am more convinced than ever that I have a lemon. My check engine light has come on when I was traveling in two different states and had to find dealerships to check the car out. My current problem has been worked on for three different occasions and I have to take it back again because the power steering fluid is still leaking. Corporate offered me a free service which amounts to basically an oil change for all of my inconvenience because everything else is basically covered on the extended warranty. I have had to take off time from work and vacation to sit in the dealership on nine different occasions, lost pay, was scared to drive the car because of all of the mechanical repairs, and had the car shut down completely while I was driving it. Corporate went as far to tell me that they do not have to offer me anything for my inconvenience and I should be happy that they offered the free service. Really Honda!! I have been a loyal Honda driver since 1991 and thats how you treat loyal customers... This will be the last Honda that I purchase and they have left me no choice but to get an attorney involved to help get customer satisfaction!
