I love this truck. It has a very comfortable ride, smooth, quick acceleration, effortless braking. The in-bed trunk was alot bigger than I thought it could be, and it's so easy to access because the tail-gate can swing open as well as fold down. I was expecting 18MPG, but am averaging 19.7MPG. The radio sounds pretty good, but not up to my audiofile type standards, and the 6 disk changer won't play MP3s, so I'll probably replace it.
I knew when I showed the truck to my friends who said "That's not a real pickup truck..." that I had found something unique. They were right - it's not a normal pickup truck. It rides and drives like a sports car - tight, solid, responsive. Yet hauls so much with the flip-up rear seats, in-bed locking weatherproof trunk, and composite bed with swing-open tailgate, it is more than a normal truck. The smooth VTEC engine and 5 speed auto with all-wheel drive and variable torque management are as far-removed from the 4-wheel drive trucks they were accustomed to. After one ride, I was hearing comments like "This is Nice!" and "Pretty Sweet!" The truck handles better than any I've ever owned in the rain. No tire spin, no torque steer, smoothest and quietest 4WD vehicle I've ever been in that can still tow 5,000 lbs.
I purchased my 2007 Honda Ridgeline because I wanted a family-friendly truck - a vehicle with a bed for hauling the typical homeowner stuff (yard work materials, furniture, junk/trash, lawn tractor, camping gear, etc) and that had some off-road capabilities (beach sand) but was comfortable and, most importantly, safe for kids. The Ridgeline met those and exceeded those requirements. I must admit, it took a few months to get use to the unibody appearance, but now I'm totally hooked on it. I definitely plan to buy another Ridge when this one has severed its time, which I'm pretty sure will be a good number of years from now.
