I bought an 06 a year ago and have never had more fun driving a car! This car makes you want to take the long way to wherever you go. It is not for everyone. There is no cabin storage space, though plenty of room in the trunk. The feel is cramped with the top up, the radio is lousy. With the top down, the driver is not buffeted by the wind, the sound of the engine is much better than any radio, and the comments you get from passers by are great. This is a car meant to be driven hard. It has a variable timing that means the peak pull of the car is from 5,000 to 8,000. Do not be afraid to red line it! If you test drive it and do not take it over 6,000 rpm you will not have a good feel for what the car can do. It is as quick as any boxster, z4 or 350z and will leave a miata behind instantly. It is also superb handling. The balance is perfect, the suspension allows you to take hard corners with zero roll, the steering is light and responsive. The interior appears cramped but it is a marvel of design in that everything is right at the drivers finger tips and the seat supports you well for spirited driving. If you like driving top down in a real sports car you cannot do better then this. I've tried a lot of others and they do not come close!
Used to drive one back in 2003-2006, have wanted my own since. Found that of all dealerships carmax had the best quality s2000's with original body parts and paint... Every other dealership had accidents and replacement parts with paint blended. LOVE LOVE LOVE my honda, i keep it in the garage and never take it out below 48 degrees, and will never touch snow or salted roads. I want to buy a second one and start collecting these insane machines.
The 2006 Honda S2000 that I purchased has become my favorite vehicle to date. It looks AMAZING and I get compliments wherever I go. The performance was a bit shocking at first because it's a small car and I wasn't expecting it to have so much power. It has incredible acceleration, the shifter is perfection and the handling is superb. The cockpit is small but I have plenty of room, which surprises everyone because I'm 6 feet, 5 inches tall. The power convertible top is easy to operate as are the power windows and mirrors. The air conditioning and stereo system work perfectly. My S2000 is my primary transportation and I look forward to climbing in each day and driving it. I sometimes take a longer route to work just to be able to drive it longer. With it's Honda quality, I look forward to driving it for many years to come.
