2007 H-3 Hummer

I am really enjoying my Hummer H-3. Seating is very comfortable and has superior headroom (I'm 6' 2"). I also like the styling. It turns heads and draws favorable comments practically every time I drive it. Nice interior. The Hummer pulls strong with a trailer. Handling is good too. Mileage around town is 14 mpg, exactly as advertised. Haven't had it on any long trips yet to check the open road mileage but I expect 19 to 20 mpg. It doesn't have a lot of "punch" acceleration from a stop that I had expected from a V-5 engine. However has plenty of power, even when pulling a load uphill. It is in constant 4WD. Would have preferred a 2WD capability that likely would have improved gas mileage. Driving comfort is what you would expect from a vehicle with off road potential, just a tad stiff and bumpy but much better than the Jeep Liberty that it replaced. You can shut the engine off and remove the ignition key while the Hummer is still in gear. Then it will roll forward or backward if you are parked on even a gentle slope. Unless the H-3 has the tow package option you will need to have the vehicle wired for towing electrical connections if desired. There isn't a 7 pin plug connection unless you have the towing package option. Wife loves driving it too. Her usual vehicle is an Accura TL.

2007 Hummer H3

It is sure a shame that GM had to shed the Hummer brand. The H3 is one of the most capable 4X4s ever. The wife and I needed to add and additional vehicle to our household. It had to be either a truck or SUV, and had to be four wheel drive. We live in the SoCal Mountains and get quite a bit of snow in the winter. The H3 is full time four wheel drive with four wheel lock and four-low lock. The inline 5 cylinder engine provides decent power and fuel economy. It has plenty of room inside for all of the kid's baseball and football equipment. It is the perfect size! Not too big and not too small. I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone needing a mid-size 4X4 vehicle.

More or Less

I've wanted the Hummer H3 since it's first appearance in early/mid 2000's. For whatever reasons, that notion was abandoned, until recently. My SLK was getting a bit tiresome and as much as I loved that car, it was time to move on. I wanted and needed passenger space and cargo space. So, once again, I opted for an SUV and yes, in this time of bad economy and worst gas prices and mileages. I intended another vehicle, but that particular one, had issues. Then I reacquainted myself with the H3. I read other reviews, did my research and found my vehicle. Yes, there's virtually no pick up, and that's being polite. Gas mileage is NOT great, but not too far off from my last two sportscars. So, I down graded the fuel selection to compensate the lost mileage. Love the handling, the ride, smooth like a luxury car/auto. Love the room, the look, the style, very "military-user friendly". Only real issues, going into this particular H3, the parking brake and/or the sensors, is not functioning as it should. I think, it's not releasing itself, when disengaged. I hope this is an isolated matter and I will soon take it to have it looked at. The antenna is difficult to remove, to take through a car wash. As of date, I've not been able to remove. Aside from that, I do like this vehicle very much.
