2007 Hummer H3Kevdog - Phoenix, AZ02/21/2012
My 2007 Hummer H3 is spacious, handles well (great turning radius), rides smooth, and looks great. The only drawback is the mpg. If you are OK with 15-17 mpg (city and/or hwy), then this is a "must purchase" vehicle.
Where do I start ?
The Hummer H3 model is just what it the wrapper shows it to be , it is rugged , handles most any terrain on or off the highway you throw at it . You do lose a little bit on the mpg , but for the vehicle in the " SUV " category , it is actually better than most ! I live in the midwest and thus have pretty decent winter conditions to push through and the H3 has been more than up for the challenge .
The looks and styling ARE different than most , personally I am a fan of that . In a day of " cookie-cutter bodystyles " it IS so nice to be able to look into a crowded parking lot after some holiday shopping and find my H3 rather quickly , and realizing that the looks alone of it just makes it STAND OUT above others !
The interior is simple and quite functional , everything is laid out and within reach , the heated leather seats are a must for anyone in a cold weather climate or bad back ! The sunroof is as big as I have ever seen ! All the amenities are simply put " outstanding without overkill " in my opinion .
The engine provides more than enough power for traffic , climbing , & towing . It runs quietly and smooth through the powerbands without any of those " quirky little hiccups " you experience in most " bigger SUV models " when under heavy acceleration situations .
The maintenance on this vehicle has been very managable so far , costs are in line with most cars/SUV's for this day and age , so I am not disappionted in that as I had feared when initially purchasing .
Overall the H3 is everything I had hoped it would be , Attractive looking with a rugged side , yet not a gas gulping rattle trap , with plenty of luxurious amenities , but not an abundance of airplane-type features , that have you scrambling for the owner's manual trying to figure out what they are .
It is a simple and luxurious SUV at a moderate price that gives what you ask of it . Why is it a good all around vehicle , like this , is stopped being produced ?
Well I am glad I have mine !
They’re big. They’re bold. They’re kinda in your face. Tall pickup trucks and SUVs have the kind of ride height that gets you over, through, and around the kind of rough terrain which stops other vehicles in their tracks. If you live in a place with lots of snow, mud, or uneven ground, ride height (defined as the distance between the bottom of your truck’s tires and the lowest point on the underside) is probably more important to you than road-hugging and handling characteristics and strong fuel efficiency.
