Hummer H3 ALPHA

I drove a standard 5 cylinder H3 Hummer and then after a lot of on line research I found a H3 Hummer ALPHA with the 5.3 V8 engine. "WOW" what a difference and I am not at all disappointed in my purchase of a Hummer. The performance and maneuverability of the H3 ALPHA is simply amazing. This thing navigates city streets and parking lots with little of no effort and when entering freeways it is amazing how safley it blends in with freeway speeds for a heavy vehicle. Buying a Hummer it is understood gas mileage is not a factor. As far as off road the ALPHA makes a huge difference. I would highly recommend the HUMMER H3 ALPHA and the H2 HUMMER to anyone in the market for a dual purpose vehicle. I think the HUMMER got a bad rap and with hope GM will bring it back.

My First Four Wheel Drive

The vehicle is great overall, with the performance I expected. The power is a little less than I thought, but still adequate. The truck runs hotter than it should, and it affects the electronics. I will change the thermostat, see if that works. It handles off road like a dream, and is great on the interstate as well. Driving style makes a HUGE difference in mileage, as much as 30%. Tire inflation seems to offer peak performance at 40psi. Great looks, great fun, great truck!

They’re big. They’re bold. They’re kinda in your face. Tall pickup trucks and SUVs have the kind of ride height that gets you over, through, and around the kind of rough terrain which stops other vehicles in their tracks. If you live in a place with lots of snow, mud, or uneven ground, ride height (defined as the distance between the bottom of your truck’s tires and the lowest point on the underside) is probably more important to you than road-hugging and handling characteristics and strong fuel efficiency.
