Reviews for 2008 Hyundai Accent
I love this car!
This is my first newer car and I love it! Appearance was an important factor for me and this baby blue Hyundai met my expectations perfectly! I am very short, so I love how compact this car is. The ride is very smooth and comfortable. This car is also very safe, it dings when the driver seatbelt is not buckled and when the door is open when you may think you closed it properly. I also like the compact size because I can fit into any parking spot without much hassle and I do not have a problem with "blind-spots" as I do in larger vehicles. This is a perfect car for first time owners and those looking for a stylish, light-weight, compact car.
Accent Is a Great Buy
I was originally in the market for a Honda Fit, but a Hyundai Accent came up in my search. After doing some research, I discovered that it is a very close competitor to the Fit, with almost euqal gas mileage and ratings. Comparing test drives, the Accent had more driver and passenger room and equal amenities as far as stereo and interior is concerned. The Accent is not as "stylish" as the Fit, but it is no slouch either. The car has a great appearance, inside and out. The dark blue is especially striking. The main thing - drive. You can feel the road but don't feel too jounced. Shifting is a breeze. Although my model is not a 6-speed, it still has all the get up and go required for ordinary driving. It would be nice to have the sixth gear when out on the open road, but it is not necessary. The main benefit of this car is the ultimate value. I paid much less for the same quality as cars priced much higher (like the Fit). What the Accent does not have in trendy stylings, it makes up for in solid drivability, attractive appearance, and streamlined features. The safety and warranty also can't be beat. Side and front airbags standard, and Hyundai's current warranty beats Honda hands-down. Hyundai has been increasing the quality of their products over the past few years and is definitely worth consideration. I am more than pleased with the value this little car packs. Oh, and one of the best features is that the hatch has a detachable lid inside so that people can't see anything that is kept in the hatch area. In the Fit, this was not available, and people could see through the back window and into anything that happened to be left in the back. It's nice to still feel like I have a kind of trunk. The storage space is quite surprising, especially with the back seats folded completely down.
Not to good after it reaches 100,000 miles or more
Unfortunately I've had issues with the timing belt and now the clutch is popping out while driving 500 dollars I've spent so far on the timing belt
