Good Car, Bad Cruise Control

2010 Hyundai Accent Brie Ricotta - Kansas City, MO 06/06/2011

I got this car to replace the 2002 version of the same car. The premium package has a very nice sound system, and there are controls on the steering wheel for the radio and cruise control. The cloth seats feel good and the children have no trouble falling asleep in the backseats. Also, the keychain locks and unlocks the doors. There are lights on the mirrors in the visors, overhead "map lights" and the regular dome light. Counting the bottle holders in the doors, the cupholders in the front, and the cupholders in the backseat's armrest, there are 8 places to hold a drink. With this car, I feel like I had almost all of the features of more expensive cars for a much lower price. It's a very pleasing car. I feel like this car's engine has plenty of power for a car this size. I also like how it's not possible to accidentally leave the lights on and kill the battery. If I'm inside and I try to open the driver's door while it's locked, it will unlock. If I try to lock the doors while the keys are in the ignition, they will unlock. If I use the remote to unlock the doors and nobody gets in, they re-lock. This problem makes it hard to accidentally do things you don't want to do. My only major complaint is the cruise control is ridiculous. The way it's set up will cause the engine to use higher RPM, causing you to use more gas with cruise control on than with it off. This has to be the only car on the planet in which cruise control kills your gas mileage. If you're on a highway doing 70 MPH with cruise control, your engine will be over 3000 RPM the whole time. So 4 stars for performance because of the cruise control. But everything else seems good.

Great starter car

2013 Hyundai Accent R - Atlanta, GA 11/26/2014

It comes equipped with power windows, xm radio, and an aux and USB port for your music needs. It tells you the approximate amount of miles left until the gas tank is empty. It is a smooth ride and very easy to maintain.

Great value!

2004 Hyundai Accent VeuveClicquot - Atlanta, GA 01/21/2007

This little car is agile, light and handles well. It shifts well, the gear box is solid, breaks quickly, and is overall a great value. Visibility is stellar out of all windows. It's not too bad on safety, seeing as it has front and side airbags. The acceleration and handling of curves leaves something to be desired, but for the price, one shouldn't expect Porsche-like performance. It's a nice first car for someone you're worried will drive too fast... Overall, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this Hyundai - it seems that the company is finally making better cars!
