Hyundais aren't the bad cars people think they are. I purchased mine with a little over 9000 miles on it and haven't had any problems. I know two other Hyundai owners (one has 3 of them) and they love theirs also. It would be nice if this one had a bit more room in the backseat though. Also the armrest is a bit too small.
Ok first of all I really hate that people dislike foreign cars because they don't have over 500 hp and an 8 cylinder engine. Today that is not ethical and we need to go smaller and more fuel efficient. The Elantra I have is the Hatchback model and I gotta say when I got the car I looked at it and didn't give it much thought, but when you get in the seat it is low and you feel like you have a great view of everything. The acceleration in this car is great I am able to accelerate out of turns no problem. I have even taken it on the expressways and this car flys and what is great about it is that you feel like you are going forty when you are going 25. Some downsides to the car are the back seats they are not very comfortable, but the driver and passenger seat are. I am 6 foot and I have no problems. Another problem is this car is sorta loud on acceleration I wish it was a little quieter. But what is great about the car is the mpg's I drove 230 miles and my tank was not even close to three quarters and I was amazed. This car is also fantastic in the rain the brakes are really strong on mine and I have no problems in rain or snow. I'm afraid I have not driven the sedan version so I can't really review that, but I will definitely buy another Hyundai in the future.
It is very convenient to drive. Everything on the dash is within reach. Lots of interior and trunk space. This is the first 4 cylinder car I've had in a long time and I'm very pleased with it's performance.
