First of all, every time I see my car in a parking lot, I get a little frisson of joy at how much better it looks that the other cars on the lot. It handles well, has decent fuel economy for a 2011 vehicle, and has great cargo space. The back seat has excellent leg and headroom, which is very important since my son is already 5'-7" and hasn't even become a teenager yet. We tested several different makes and models, and this was far and away my back-seat tester's first choice. For work lunches, I can seat three in the back more comfortably than most coworkers' cars. Maintenance costs are pleasantly low, as well.

Pros

Visibility: The tail light design was a major factor in my purchase. The car is highly visible to other vehicles approaching from the rear.
Value: Similar in style, size, and versatility to the Mazda 3 I was also considering, but with better interior features at a much lower cost
Cargo Space: When I traded in my Honda Element for the Elantra, I was nervous about loosing cargo space but in fact I can still do some major damage to my bak account at Ikea and get my purchases home in a single trip.

Cons

Power: It is a little sluggish up hill, and slower to pick up speed from a dead stop that just about any other car I've driven.
Fuel Economy: Fuel economy is not as good as I expected. I average about 25 mpg, and 29 mpg on highway.

It's a sporty looking car, perfect for my 18 yr old daughter. She loves the car, only negative is that it won't support her iPhone 5s and play her music through the music system. This is a documented flaw in Hyundai's and not sure if it's been changed but it's their software that won't support anything past an iPhone 4.

Pros

Safety: All the air bags
Interior Space: Lots of room
Cost to Maintain: So far so good, oil changes and a new cabin filter are all I've done so far

Cons

Ride and Handling: Steering is a little strange, very tight.
Technology and Entertainment: Can't connect an iPhone 5 or 6 to the sound system, it's not supported???
Fuel Economy: Not that great around town, maybe 25 MPG

Carmax can find you anything you need in your price range. Filter it out online and boom it all pops up. Shop with comfort online and ease. Even if you shop inside their not pushy.
