Transmission: Automatic Color:Gray Interior Color: Tan Average Vehicle Review: (4.431 reviews) This is not a perfect car but it is a great value for commuting. It has a surprising amount of space for its size, both interior and cargo, and handles pretty well. I wouldn't want to have 4 adults and luggage in there for a long road trip, but packing around the family is no problem. It's a little light on power but I still can maintain highway speed going uphill. So far (~10,000 miles since I've had it, almost 60,000 overall) it has been reliable, no repairs needed. It's reasonably fun to drive and I get 34-35mpg (regular fuel) on the highway. Biggest downside is technology - the radio is bad and the speakers are average at best. No temperature reading (engine, cabin or outside) and no separate controls for anything for passengers.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Blue Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.431 reviews) This car may not be the best looking or very stylish inside and out, but for a car at its price, it has great safety rating numbers, seatbelts, and a lot of different airbags that make it so (I can attest to the airbag and safety when I had this model before from 2010 until 2014 when it was totaled in an accident. It protected me well). It also gets great gas mileage, has a very roomy, comfortable cabin for its compact sedan size, large trunk space, Great stereo system and speaker volume balance, fog lights, chrome door handles, steering wheel cruise control and stereo system controls, Auxillary plug in for iPod or phone music, charging power jack, cigarette lighter, spare tire with jack and tools, and traction control. Not bad for winter .

Transmission: Automatic Color:Red Interior Color: Tan Average Vehicle Review: (4.431 reviews) I've owned this car for one year now, and have had no major problems. I've put almost 20k miles on since I bought it. Routine oil changes and a transmission flush are basically all I've had to do, oh and new tires. I think I had to replace a couple belts recently too. Handles well enough in the snow with standard all-season tires. There isn't a lot of passenger room - two adults up front and a teenager in back is pretty crowded, but most of the time it's just me and the small children in car seats, and two car seats work okay. I definitely wouldn't want to try 3 though. I mostly use the car for commuting to work and it's great, good gas mileage (33 mpg average, mostly highway).

Transmission: Automatic Color:Silver Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.431 reviews) Runs great, decent mileage, looks nice, plenty of cargo room. My only complaint is that the driver side window stopped working, and needs a whole new internal assembly, a $400 repair. This shouldn't happen on a 6 year old car. However, the car itself is great. It's really like a small SUV, as it sits higher than a Civic, but not quite as high as a Honda CRV. The gas mileage achieved is usually about 26 mpg, not great, but not bad. On longer trips, slightly more than 30 mpg can be achieved. It's worthwhile to note that this car is heavier than the Elantra sedan, which accounts for lower gas mileage. Fantastic car, very happy with it, no issues.

Good car for the model year at the price

Get what you pay for

We bought a 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring with a manual transmission. It seemed a good deal for my wife's floral business, with ample cargo space and a lively engine. It was not a bad little car, but the suspension was awful and the ride extremely jittery. It seemed to pick up every bump in the road. The basic seats didn't help. The headrests are too far forward and the lumbar support is non-existent. It was unpleasant to drive any distance. In fact it made my wife nauseous. Any cargo being carried was also subjected to a great deal of shaking, which isn't terribly helpful when you are carrying expensive flower arrangements. We traded it in within a month and bought a bigger vehicle. The Elantra might be alright for running down to the store, but not much more.
