Used 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe SE in Dulles, VA for Sale
Reviews for 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
I have loved this vehicle since day 1. I was driving a Scion XA, and needed a bigger car for relocation and future family planning. I have had generous travel and drive time in a CRV and RAV4, the Santa Fe is bigger and quieter than the CRV, and I would say equal to the RAV4 -- for less $$. Everyone who rides in the Santa Fe with me is astounded at how well it rides, how nice it "get up and goes", and how comfortable it is. 2008 offered 2 engine sizes - I recommend the bigger engine. I test drove smaller engine Santa Fe, and the acceleration just wasn't there. Most of all, I feel very safe in this vehicle.
High Quality Affordable Vehicle for a Young Family
As a young family with a small child we had outgrown our cars and needed something larger (and I really wanted to avoid becoming a minivan-mama just yet!). But, due to their high gas mileage and price tag, we also really couldn't yet afford a lot of gas-guzzling SUV's that I had often admired. We weren't hung up on any particular make, but were looking for a vehicle that was spacious, had significant cargo room for long trips with our growing family, got good gas mileage (compared to other SUV's), had low past mileage on it, had perfect safety scores, wasn't very old, and fit our budget. When we found this car, I was instantly in love, and honestly surprised that I had found something that fit all of our needs. Not only did it match all of our must-have requirements to a tee, and then some, but it had so many more extras that I wasn't expecting to be able to afford! The light blue is beautiful, as is the light tan upholstery and dark wood paneling in the interior. Our Santa Fe also has a sunroof, heated front seats and XM radio! We don't get quite as good mileage as we had originally hoped for, but compared to other large vehicles / SUV's, it really is pretty great! My only other complaint would be that it doesn't accelerate quite as strong as I'm used to with my past vehicles and on the interstate it seems to run a little high on the RPM's.
Best SUV in Class
I test drove the Mazda, Nissan, Honda, and Hyundai SUVs and found the Santa Fe to be the best all-around driving experience and value. The front seat comfort is very good (I am 6'3" and the legroom is comfortable so that my knee are not up in the steering column); the handling is great; and the cargo area is the largest of the vehicles tested. (I can fit my golf clubs sideways in the Santa Fe.) The acceleration is very good. The handling at higher speeds is a bit livelier than some of the others, but not a problem. I like the dash controls for the radio and heater/AC compared to the other vehicles...much more simple and easy to access while driving. The leather heated seats (I bought the Limited edition) are excellent in the recent cold weather. I strongly recommend as both a good small utility SUV and a good looking and comfortable commuter vehicle.
