We went from an enormous Chrysler Pacifica with Captain's chairs in row 1 and 2 that felt like you were driving in a couple of Lazy Boy recliners, so the comfort level in this car is a bit different! Other than going from a luxury liner to a smaller vessel, we absolutely love this car! The inside has a lot of little details that we did not expect in a hybrid vehicle. There are design elements that truly make the inside and outside of this car as nice as any car we have seen in this price range. For a mid-sized car, the inside is enormous. We have possibly the world's largest car seat ever and it and our daughter fit just fine in the back seat. Although, it will be difficult to fit the car seat and two more people in the back seat. Two people do fit just fine with plenty of head and leg room. The car drives like a dream. I have experienced none of what the other reviewers are talking about with the lag when you go from a stop. Maybe they aren't pushing the gas pedal hard enough??? The brakes seriously could stop a Mack truck! They are super sensitive but I love that they work so great. The gas mileage is AWESOME! Just today I took a picture of the gas mileage I was getting: 47 mpg. I will take it! I seem to get between 38-40 mpg on average though. Obviously, if you "drive like you stole it" your gas mileage is going to be much higher. I drive the speed limit but I do take off more slowly so as not to disturb the gas mileage too much. It seems like the faster you take off from a stop or the more you rev the engine while you drive, the worse the gas mileage is. Actually, it is making me a better, more patient driver trying to keep my gas mileage so high! Bottom line: I drive 75+ miles per day and we had to get a car with better gas mileage but didn't want to skimp on having a nice car with all the bells and whistles. That is exactly what we got with this Sonata Hybrid. We love this car and this was a great buy for us.
I wanted a car that was good on gas and was very modern! I wanted something that would get up & go if I wanted to and despite it being a hybrid it does just that! I fill up about every 2weeks and even when gas was more expensive it was only about $34-$36.
