Had some parts replaced within the first two weeks of owning, but overall I am VERY pleased with the LX model. The leather seats are plush and the V6 engine is super quick. The trunk is good for small items, but not for multiple baby strollers. It's got above average MPG for a midsize V6 sedan, about 18-19 in the city. A LOT better than my previous SUV (about 9mpg).
I have owned this car for 15 months now and we just love it. It looks great, runs great and we have had no problems. We saved thousands by not buying a Camry or Accord and the quality is as good or better. Ours is the 3.3 liter V6 LX. What a deal for a car with all these features!
I bought the Sonata LX after one test drive and subsequent test drive of a Camry SE. The Sonata was a big surprise - I have not had so much fun driving a car in many years. The engine is so responsive you have to lift your foot, It also delivered 28 mpg thefirst tank on trip home of 400 miles. The handling was like a sports car - with the Michelin Pilot 17" tires, I was able to take exit ramps at near twice the posted limit (with the salesperson next to me) with no noticeable lean or tire squeal. I love the leather seats, power roof, and premium stereo. While I was in this euphoria - the dealer offered me a huge discount - $6000 under Camry. Toyota dealer would not deal, did not have exact car I wanted in stock, and badmouthed the Sonata for resale. I think the $6000 less up front will more than make up for the difference over Camry. The Camry was less responsive, better riding (tires?), and felt more luxurious, but overpriced!
