The features alone make it stand out. I love the push-button start and the unlock feature on the door handles has me spoiled. It handles like a dream and has plenty of power...and it's a 4-cylinder. This isn't your momma's 4-cylinder...I gave a hemi a run for his $.

Reviews for 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Overall Rating

4.6 out of 5 (154 reviews)

I am very pleased with the price that I paid for the features I got.

This is by far one of the nicest cars I have ever driven. The features alone make it stand out. I love the push-button start and the unlock feature on the door handles has me spoiled. It handles like a dream and has plenty of power...and it's a 4-cylinder. This isn't your momma's 4-cylinder...I gave a hemi a run for his $.

Pros

  • Ride and Handling: Drives like a dream.
  • Fuel Economy: Great gas mileage
  • Power: Really....this car is a 4-cylinder???

Quality, fit and finish that will surprise you at a great price.

I've been very surprised at the fit/finish of the Sonata. I remember when Hyundai first entered the US market and the niche they were fighting for was to be the cheapest 4 dr sedan. Now they definitely compete head to head against established leaders such as Honda and Toyota. Excellent car and I'm very satisfied.

Pros

  • Fuel Economy: Great gas mileage
  • Ride and Handling: Much sportier and fun to drive than I expected. Very solid car.
  • Technology and Entertainment: For the same price as a basic Accord of the same year, I got leather seats, rear view camera, GPS, etc, etc. etc. Everything is very intuitive and easy to use. Extremely well designed car, both inside and out.

Cons

  • Technology and Entertainment: Stock speakers leave a lot to be desired.

An excellent buy

This model was highly rated by several sources and so far the car has performed well. Hyundai gives one far more features per dollar than almost any other brand. I got more than expected (like heated seats front and rear) and it looks great!. The base 4 cyl. engine doesn't have the grunt I am accustomed to, but is not embarrassing. The only problems so far are (1) that the trunk lids sometimes opens on its own - still trying to solve the problem; (2) The front end is too low and it is easy to scrape it..

Pros

  • Styling: Value
  • Technology and Entertainment:
  • Value:

Cons

  • Cabin Noise: Trunk lid opening
  • Power:
