My wife and I shopped many brands including luxury models. After test driving several we were pleasantly surprised with the many electronic and safety features. However, three things sold us on the Sonata. Roominess and especially the back seat. Comfortable seating and ergonomics. Great fuel economy with a peppy four cylinder vehicle.
I've owned a 96 and 06 Elantra's so I'm a loyal Hyundai owner. Moving up to the fully loaded Sonata SE was the best move I've ever made. It's an impressive vehicle that didn't break the bank. I'm consistently impressed with the styling--it's a head turner in ruby red--fuel economy, and sharp handling. It's joy and pleasure to drive; friends and family are equally impressed with the passenger ride. I highly recommend this car!
Not sure if it wants to be a sedan or a race car.

These cars are fast and get great gas mileage. They handle pretty well at higher speeds, I do a lot of interstate driving for my work commute, 30 miles one way, I drive 80 mph for most of the trip but I am a guy so I had to know how fast it would go. This car tops at about 133 and after 120 it takes a little while to wind out top gear, definitely more than any normal person needs. I grew up driving high powered vehicles and this will satisfy most people's need for speed. I get mixed data of 198-200 hp. Which is plenty for me. My friend has the 2.0 T and it rates 274 hp. and will hit over 150 mph. The ride is more like a sports car on the interior, passengers say the seat is too low and not enough adjustment, although plenty of leg room.
