Great SUV for the price! Lots of cabin room and powerful engine.
Great value for the money

I decided on the veracruz after looking at both the santa fe and the toyota highlander. The verucruz's third row seat is much larger and more comfortable than the highlander & santa fe. The large second row windows with the optional sunroof make it seem open and spacious. The controls are well marked and easy to use. Interior quality and fit & finish are impressive. Seats are great with the exception of the middle seat in the second row which is hard as a rock. Third row is tight for adults but ok for short trips. Acceleration is good and transmission is very smooth; however, since it's a 6 speed, its seems like it's constantly shifting. It takes some getting used to, but isn't a problem since it's so smooth. Overall, a great crossover!

Knew I was going to buy a Hyundai because of the positive reports I had read about their cars and warranty. I was set on the Santa Fe, but at the last minute decided to go with the Veracruz. It is a little bigger and seemed to get the same mileage rating, more or less. I test drove both models and absolutely loved the way the Veracruz handled and how comfortable it is. Too bad I didn't have that third row seating when my kids were younger, but it is a nice feature even without lots of kids. I always wish to get better mileage, but I need a car to fit my 4 dogs so that is the sacrifice I make driving a bigger car. I get about 20 MPG with 50-50 split of city/freeway driving.
