It's a great size SUV for a family of 6 or 7, Feels comfortable and safe in every seat. The 3rd row is amazing.
We have been an avid buyer of Hyundais and Kia, until this Veracruz. At first the car was tight and very sound car, after 60K miles of being well cared for the car rattles, wind noise and many electric problems, specfically the powerseat settings for driver, the steering wheel locks up and needs key to start (normal start is just having the key fob in the auto) I have had this car in several times to repair and it gets repaired but returns back to problem after couple months of driving. Still a solid car, but these issues are just annoying considering I have had 2005 Kia Optima with 165K miles and no problems, not rattles. The 2006 Hyandai Sante Fe I owned before this car never had a problem nor never returned it to the shop even with 50K miles. Will probably buy the Sante Fe, not a Veracruz. FYI young mechanic at dealer told me these problems were common with this model
I was unsure about buying a Hyundai, as I had a little one back in the day, and it was a piece of junk! But, just one test drive and I was smitten. The Limited version that I purchased comes with every luxury extra that I could dream of. It's beautiful on the inside and the outside. My kids love the TV, and the wireless earphones make the back seat quieter than it's ever been with two boys! No more fighting! The third row of seats has already come in handy for driving around friends, and when I go to the grocery store, it folds down VERY easily to load all my groceries. I have been very happy with the gas mileage, and the handling. It turns tighter than my Toyota Avalon, and I love the fact that it sits high, but does not ride like a truck. If you are not sure because it's a Hyundai, give it a test drive. I'm sure it will win you over too.
