Infiniti EX35 Journey

This vehicle is loaded with amenities, rides well, and handles well. We took it out for an hour drive away from home to see if the seats would be comfortable over the long haul and the answer was yes. However, there are negatives to the car. The big one for me is visibility. The windshield and rear window are small, cutting down on visibility. On each side of the windshield, there's a 4 to 5 inch block of view. Making left hand turns, it is difficult to see the lane you are turning into and if there's a car nearby. Space is limited. On the 60/40 split, we solved the storage problem by lowering the 40 split and putting a covered container on the back of that seat with jumper cables, first aid kit, bicycle cables, and air pump. The dark tinted windows helps to have a modicum of privacy. Drink holders are 2 in front and 2 in back. The door pockets aren't wide enough to hold a folded umbrella. The glove compartment is long but narrow in space as well. This car is great for a couple but not for more than 2 people with an occasional 3rd person guest if you configure it the way we have. All that said, I am keeping the car. It's definitely a luxury vehicle with leather seats and loaded with technology, so I am accepting its limitations. As to the vision problem, I hope to solve that with after market devices such as a camera system.

Suits my needs

I bought this car needing to replace my work vehicle. I was specifically looking for a medium size crossover/ large hatchback. I only needed enough cargo space to accommadate 2 large suitcases and a couple boxes. This Infiniti was probably not designed for larger families. (+): Sporty look, Very comfortable, ample power, great steering/ handling, smooth transmission, nice sound system, easy to maneuvar back seats, and ok gas mileage. I drive over 200 miles/week , (majority hwy) and can go 2 weeks before each fill-up. (-): Requires premium fuel, but most high performance engines do. Reliability history reveals noisy fuel pump; although yet to experience. Not available in a manual xmission; although the auto shifter is one of the best I have ever driven. Overall; if you're looking for a small, sporty crossover; this car gets a thumbs up.

Love it.

This car is AWESOME. 1. Drives like a sports sedan; very fast acceleration, tight cornering, very little body roll. Rear wheel drive makes a giant difference. 2. Despite the tight handling, it is smooth on the straightaways. 3. Beautiful, clean luxury interior. Lots of leather surfaces, lacquered wood and aluminum. Comfortable seats and very little cheap plastic. 4. Despite claims to the contrary, you can haul a lot if the seats are folded. If you have a big family, the rear seats are tight, but for a personal commuter with occasional passengers or cargo, it is the perfect balance. 5. Ultra-reliable nissan v6 with a timing CHAIN. this is one of the best engines in the auto industry.
