After owning many European, Japanese and American cars, in this car search I took my time and did extreme research. After getting down to my final three, Mercedes, BMW and Infiniti. After several test drives, this car beat the others hands down for style, comfort, performance and killer amenities.
The FX's aggressive appearance is assisted by huge tires and a sleek, sloping roofline. The downside to its shape is a lack of rear visibility. The bonus-sized side mirrors blocked a portion of my front/side view out the driver and passenger windows. An interesting shaped hood gives the FX an angry snarling dog look, but it also cuts down on some over-the-hood visibility. The interior of the FX felt kind of tight and cave-like when I first jumped into it. I thought it would be a claustrophobia-inducing tight squeeze for 5 adults. Much to my surprise, the FX swallowed all three back seat passengers easily. We also managed to squeeze a half-keg with shell, 2 medium coolers, & 3 duffle bags in the cargo area with room to spare. Shocking! The FX has more usable interior space than meets the eye. Because it was the dog days of summer during my test drive, my favorite feature in the FX35 are the cooled front seats (part of the Premium Package). There's nothing better than a great Texas drive (especially after the gym workouts) with a Bose audio system thumping my favorite XM channel and seats gracing me with the most gentle, cooling breeze. Speaking of the audio system, I loved the integrated iPod interface and speed-sensitive volume control. I was easily able to surf through my playlists using the steering-wheel-mounted controls - a huge bonus on those traffic filled highways. When my driving mojo was interrupted by rush hour traffic, the FX turned the volume down for me so I could carry on my deep conversation with my passenger. When receiving a phone call, the FX turns the volume of the music off and the Bluetooth call is interjected via surround sound. My conversations are much clearer on the FX Bluetooth than my cell phone itself. Not to mention much safer since I no longer have to touch my phone, seeing as though all the controls I need to take or make a call are readily available on the steering wheel and via voice recognition controls. Did I mention that I no longer have to dig into my bottomless purse to find my car keys? The FX remote keyless entry is definitely a benefit I didn't anticipate using as much as I do, especially as a mom-on-the-go who always has her hands filled with multiple bags. Sunroof = a little extra vitamin D Rear-view camera = peace of mind
Over experience driving the 2010 Infiniti Fx35 has been fantastic. Great performance, sound system, interior and exterior design, etc....
