Transmission: Automatic Color:Black Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.333 reviews) I have the F-Type S...Having owned a 911 cab, an S5 Cab, an e550 cab, a Boxster S, and many other sports cars I have to say for everyday driving, this is by far the most enjoyable. The sports seats are perfect, the dynamic mode not only drives fantastic, but sounds like a Ferrari. Throw it into sport mode and it's a beast. Great interior fit too. I get people staring and asking about it too. Really a fantastic car. Also, was the runner up to the 911 in 2014 for JD Powers initial quality. Great buy...

Love it - and hate it...

The Love It: I absolutely love the road feel of the Jag S-Type...smooth ride on the open highway, and even the 3.0L gets up and goes! Everyone thinks the car is beautiful, and I of the prettiest Jags made in recent years and one of the prettiest cars I have ever owned. The Hate It: Buy the extended warranty because, trust me, you will need it. The 3.0L is plagued with issues (do an internet search or look at Jaguar blogs or other comments on this site. ) Most people that have the S-Type complain about the same things after about 50K to 60k miles: Brake issues, leaking oil, leaking fluids, transmission slipping, coolant reservoir leakage, heater failure, stalling, plastic parts falling off, rear third light coming loose, headlights failing, wiring issues, electric windows failing... I could be here all day. I recommend a Lexus, Toyota, Nissan or Infiniti which normally have consistant quality reviews.

I can't recommend the S-type

After 60K miles, you can almost count on most S-Type giving you mechanical problems, including leaks, electrical or headlight failures, O2 Sensor failures, issues with brakes,, the list goes on and on. Although my S-Type is beautiful, in addition to regular maintanance, you'll need deep pockets to keep an S-Type on the road after the warranty expires.
