Appears to be reliable. Fuel economy bearable. Capable of modest towing. Sure footed (can do mild off-roading). In a nutshell, it is quite a bit of vehicle for the price I paid in today's market. While I'm not a fan of electronic automatics, this one seems to shift in a sensible fashion and with no strange anomalies so far. I have already taken the vehicle on a 3k mile road trip, camping out of the back of it for 4 of the 7 days I was on the road and it performed admirably. With 1000 pounds of me and my gear in it and ON it (I've added rood racks), I got 16mpg overall, including some dirt driving and HARD pushing it hard interstates. In normal use with just me and my lady aboard it gets every bit of the 23mpg claimed by Jeep.
This is the first SUV I've ever owned. I had a four door sedan for the previous 10 years and wanted something with 4x4 but not too big. It's got plenty of room in the back seats for two kids. The cargo area is huge and even more so when fold the back seats down. It's a smooth ride even with the larger tires. 3.6L engine gives it plenty of power. The gas mileage has been surprisingly good, about 20/mpg city use which is better than I was expecting. Finally, it's got a great look.
Luxury, smooth, great technology and safety features, plenty of room, and simply a pleasure to drive. The V6 has plenty of power. As the title says, I enjoy driving again and don't mind going places. The auto cruise control is just amazing. It can be a bit on the aggressive side at times but with so much traffic on the interstate, regular cruise can rarely be used. I use the auto cruise all the time now. Wife has really enjoyed the blue tooth audio. The vented and cooled front seats are constantly used here in FL. If you go for the 4wd/awd, just know that if 1 tire has to be replaced you may have to replace all of them together. Since it is in 4wd all the time, all the tires must be very close in size. This is the honest truth.
