This car is absolutely beautiful. The best interior of any vehicle I have ever been in. Seats and materials inside and out are all premium. HOWEVER, this is the most impractical car for my lifestyle. Because the interior is so nice, I could not actually use this vehicle for anything useful. If all you do is drive yourself around, then it is fine, but if you want to haul your family or put anything inside, I would not recommend this SUV. I was so worried about scratching all the leather and chrome that I refused to use it for anything. In addition, the road noise of this SUV is just not acceptable for the price range. I have already traded this in favor of a mid-size truck that is much more practical. Navigation system is horrible also.
You can save close to HALF off of a new Summit (close to $60K new) if you are willing to give up a few miles. Vehicle had around 28K at purchase and what is the difference? V8, ALL options (except video), Harmon Kardon sound, 4 wheel drive...LOADED. Entertainment system works well, common sense with knobs and large touch screen. We would have spent over $7K MORE for a new GC Limited with LESS features. Our sales rep (Donna) had the (known issue) Dashboard replaced @ n/c. Zero issues so far and the V8 gets almost as good milage as the V6 (get the V8 - it works less hard). 20" wheels are tight and firm on road, but obviously stiff off road. Luxury vehicle more like BMW etc. No contest with new (Kia, Hyundai etc.) even USED - Worth it.
I bought the 2008 5.7L Hemi Limited. First, the things that may disappoint you: 1. Models like mine support bluetooth calls, but not music. 2. Throttle Response is slow. 3. You will get about 12mpg city and about 18mpg highway. The reason I bought this particular vehicle: 1. 5.7L V8 power 2. Tows up to 7,000 lbs 3. Comfort and Class 4. Nearly unstoppable (as long as you treat it well) Ask any Wrangler owner and they'll tell you not to buy this vehicle. That's because they're jealous. The 5.7L Hemi engine and super smart all wheel drive can pull a full load. Along a steep highway climb. In heavy rain. With the same confidence that it can cruise around town. And it will make you smile while doing both.
