Customer Review Summary for 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee
What the doctor ordered so far
2013 Jeep Grand CherokeeMike Lee - Janesville, CA08/11/2016
Appears to be reliable. Fuel economy bearable. Capable of modest towing. Sure footed (can do mild off-roading).
In a nutshell, it is quite a bit of vehicle for the price I paid in today's market. While I'm not a fan of electronic automatics, this one seems to shift in a sensible fashion and with no strange anomalies so far. I have already taken the vehicle on a 3k mile road trip, camping out of the back of it for 4 of the 7 days I was on the road and it performed admirably. With 1000 pounds of me and my gear in it and ON it (I've added rood racks), I got 16mpg overall, including some dirt driving and HARD pushing it hard interstates. In normal use with just me and my lady aboard it gets every bit of the 23mpg claimed by Jeep.
Best keep ever

2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overview
The Jeep Grand Cherokee beats any other midsize crossover SUV when it comes to off-roading. It's refined on the road and its cabin is well-trimmed. This modern trailblazer stands out as a great option for day-to-day commuting as well as weekend off-roading.
2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee History
This Jeep Grand Cherokee was designed with when Mercedes-Benz and Chrysler were in partnership, so it does have a Mercedes-Benz-built platform with some suspension parts.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee arrived in 1992.
Throughout the years, the Grand Cherokee evolved to be quite the remarkable ride.
Jeep introduced the Trailhawk trim in 2013.
How It Drives
The Grand Cherokee's driving experience doesn't begin and end on the pavement. Jeep built a full-size crossover vehicle with true off-road grit that has made the Grand Cherokee famous to trailblazing enthusiasts. While all Grand Cherokee vehicles can be configured for off-roading, Jeep built the 2013 Trailhawk trim level to be the most off-road-friendly Grand Cherokee around.
Still, the Jeep Grand Cherokee does well on highways. It drives smoothly and has an upscale cabin; when it doesn't have any cargo, new drivers may be surprised by the horsepower this crossover SUV is capable of producing. In contrast, drivers may have more trouble on city roads due to its large size. Passengers will find that the large size is more to their benefit - the vehicle has ample legroom and headroom.
Used 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Value
This crossover SUV is defined by its powerful engine, high-quality cabin, and fantastic off-road capabilities. Its cabin upgrades and overall refinement lead to the Jeep Grand Cherokee's welcoming and premium character. This modern trailblazer is one of the leaders of the midsize-crossover-SUV crowd, beating out the likes of the Toyota 4Runner or the Kia Sorento.
From an off-roading perspective, it's difficult to surpass the capabilities of the Jeep Wrangler. What's nice about the Grand Cherokee is that it satisfies a nice middle ground between utility and usability - with a little preparation, it can be driven to work day-to-day while also being fully-capable of weekend trailblazing. A Jeep Grand Cherokee is sure to see a lot of usage for the adventurous sort.
Design & Performance
The 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee is highly customizable to suit a driver's needs. Its upgrades and features are discussed below.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo's standard equipment includes full power accessories, dual-zone air conditioning, six-speaker audio system, and automatic headlights.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited gets all of the Laredo's optional equipment including rear parking sensors, Garmin navigation, automatic wipers, driver memory function, and heated second-row seats. It can be reconfigured to have better upholstery and a leather steering wheel.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Summit is the most upscale trim; it has exterior chrome accents, 20-inch aluminum wheels, power-folding side view mirrors, adaptive cruise control, and built-in parking assistance.
The SRT8 model is a high-performance trim that builds on the Overland's luxury features with better steering, an adaptive suspension, and solid brakes.
New for 2013 is the Trailhawk feature package. Overall, it's the same as the other Grand Cherokee models, but what sets it apart is that it comes with a set of off-road tires, a stronger engine, tow hooks, and other features that may be useful for off-roading.
Powertrain & Engine
The Jeep Grand Cherokee has strong engine options. The standard 3.6L V6 engine is already phenomenal. This engine has enough horsepower to take on just about anything a trail can throw at drivers. It's available on all trim levels and is typically paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. The SRT8 model has a 5.7L V8 Hemi engine - it produces much more power and is typically paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. All Jeep Grand Cherokee models are built with rear-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is also available.
Body Style & Interior Comfort
As a Jeep, the Grand Cherokee is built to be extremely tough. The 2013 model is still clearly recognizable as an SUV; it hasn't completely morphed into being as car-like as other crossovers. It can withstand anything a mountain can throw at it. The Grand Cherokee is built with high-quality upholstery that's both comfortable and supportive.
The dashboard is well-organized.
Backseat passengers should have enough room to relax comfortably.
