The 2012 Jeep Liberty 4-door Limited initially appealed to us by its design. It seems to be a cross between the rugged Wrangler design and the softer Cherokee look. By softer, I simply mean the smoother, airodynamic features. The 2012 Liberty has a great front grill design and a very "Jeep" look, squared and simple. We find the vehicle comfortable on and off road, a definately rugged suspension, and fun to drive.
Wanted a fun, but still practical SUV. This is my first jeep, while my husband did have a Wrangler years ago, I wasn't a big fan of the noisy windows of his soft top. But my 2008 (new to me) Limited Liberty gives me the not-so-rugged feel of a jeep with the smoother ride of a luxury SUV. Only 7 days old for me but so far, I'm lovin' it and would surely recommend to any driver who enjoys a fun and even practical car, esp for the price! The heated seats, sunroof and Nav system was just the icing on the cake - as I already loved the silvery bling from the wheels and grill!
Good for a small SUV

The liberty is a smooth and quiet ride with very good steering and handling. Interior is well designed w/ easy to reach controls that aren't complicated to learn. 4WD performance is adequate for all but the most grueling trails, but you wouldn't take a stock vehicle on those. Storage is quite good for a small SUV. My only complaint is that it's just a bit too small of an interior to be comfortable for several hours of straight driving. Power is acceptable and pulls a small boat or trailer easily through the hills though don't expect to win any drag races even while not towning. I only rate this "good" because the small interior does come at a bit of a sacrifice to my family's comfort. I'm 6' 1" & 240lbs.
