It runs on a powerful 3.7L V6. Has a truck type body frame making the ride very smooth and quiet. The car also has a quiet transmission that switches gears very smoothly. This car is what a real jeep feels like!

MyJeep

This is my first truck. The ride is smooth and comfortable for the front seats riders. The passengers in the back have a good amount of room but the seats are straight up and for the long journeys i drive between states the ride takes a toll on the back seat passengers. Handles well. Even when lowered all the way, the back seat head restraints slightly obstruct whats otherwise a pretty decent view. The side mirrors are adequately large and window pillars are narrow all around thus the view is unobstructed, decreasing blind spot. Of course gas mileage could be better, but I'm lovin' my truck

Jeep Liberty A Good Choice

It all depends on what you're looking for, of course, but this is an excellent choice for a multi-purpose vehicle. I went to the dealership with the intention of buying a particular Santa Fe, but changed my mind after looking through and test-driving the Liberty. It was interesting to drive the car in light of prior reviews I'd read on this site before buying it. It's true that the heat to the floor is a little skimpy (crank it up all the way and direct it only to the floor is you want warm toes in really cold weather) and that the front center arm rest should extend a little farther forward. However, these are trivial issues. The car is put together well, rides great (but remember its a Jeep!), has plenty of room in front and back seats and cargo area, and is really fun to drive. You ride quite high (as in off the ground!), which is also nice. My kids are grown and out of the house, but it was very popular with them in southern Colorado in January - it was the car everyone wanted to take to the store and to the slopes. So far, mileage with the six-speed manual is better than the EPA sticker, with about 28 on the highway. It's just a very fun car to drive. I'd recommend that you at lest take one on a test drive.
