Bought the Borrego in 2009. I haven't a bad thing to say about it. We got the deluxe model with all the bells and whistles. I do wish I had waited and ordered the 4 wheel drive. I live in the N.G. Mountains and it would have been good to have here in the winters. I truly love this car! It's roomy, interior is leather and cleans up nicely, the 3rd row seat is perfect for carting around people and kids for a short time it's almost the size of a regular backseat. My grandson made it into a bed with a DVD player and was in hog heaven when we went on a trip. He was even able to fix it to where the seat belt went around him..lol Having heated seats is just wonderful on cold mornings. I think KIA had a real winner here and I hope they reconsider making them again. I pray nothing happens to mine I'd be heart broken. My family loves it too. It is kept in tip top condition with it's 3 month maintenance which I've been diligent in keeping up, any repairs have been small , drivers door handle sprung, back up beep went a bit haywire, had to replace the Freon for the air conditioner once, nothing major has happened and I cross my fingers that it doesn't start now, but I would highly recommend this model of KIA to anyone that asks about it. To bad they don't still make it. The gas mileage isn't that bad. I heard that's why they quit making the Borrego..bad gas mileage? I don't think so..not on mine.
This vehicle has a good number of amenities for a great price. Heated leather seats, navigation, 3rd row seat.
I love my car!! Previously, I drove a minivan, so I was really concerned about losing space and losing fuel economy. It is roomy enough for the entire family and my teenage boys have no problem getting in and out of and fitting in the third row. The fuel economy is more like that of a minivan than of a full size SUV. I love the standard features like the sunroof, leather seats and back-up sensors. My Borrego has a few extra options that were well worth the difference in price: rear a/c, radio with navigation, and running boards. I have to mention a few things I wish the car had: Auto up for the drivers window (the auto is only for letting it down), a power liftgate, rear temperature control up front (you can only adjust the fan from the front), and Bluetooth (this can easily be added aftermarket). Without question, the worst thing about the Borrego is that Kia no longer makes this. I have read tons of reviews, and everyone who owns this car, loves it. Everything else about this car, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE!! The things I mentioned are definitely NOT deal breakers for me, and I cant think of another car that I would trade it forother than if it were possible to get a newer model.
