The option I don't fully regret

I got this car at 80k miles so right off the bat I can't complain about a few things. I didn't get it new so I couldn't maintain it from the start so I don't know how it was handled before I owned it. It is a decent car for the price that will get you where you need to go. It is a bare bones model with basically no features. That being said, it has decent gas mileage being a light 4 cylinder. Repairs are super easy because the engine is very accessible. You MUST replace the timing belt on this car before you drive it away used or EVERY 60k miles or you'll have problems. Also, be gentle with her because these cars are not built tough at all. The engine will run reliably but the car is almost too underpowered. It's just value.

Happy with my Rio

My 2007 Kia Rio has been driven about two thousand miles since it was purchased. It has performed flawlessly. Gas mileage approaches 35 MPG on the open road. 32 MPG around the suburban area where I live. It handles well in traffic. Parks easily and has good vision all around. I enjoy driving my Kia Rio. There has not been a single mechanical problem. Only a burned out back up light. The bulbs are easy to get to and change. I had to look to find the oil filter, but it is there at the rear of the engine's underside. It is not a muscle car and does not accelerate like a bolt of lightning. Smooth acceleration saves gas.

A Good Deal

I've had my 07 Kia Rio 5 for three months now and I will add the same positive remarks as I read before buying this car. I'm on a tight budget, so price was a key factor, but so was performance, quality and style...the Rio 5 has it all! Lets face it, it's a small car with a small engine, but it will get you to top speeds without much effort. My commute is both hwy and city driving, I get about 28 miles to the Gallon. If you drive on bad roads, you will feel every bump, but otherwise it's pretty smooth. The inside has a nice sporty feel, I like having power windows & locks; a feature many economy cars don't have. The back is large enough to hold my bike, which is cool. The only down fall with the car is that it has a poor crash test rating, so my insurance went up a little. For the Rio itself, I give it two thumbs up!
