I just love my Kia. It has much more room than I expected and it is very comfortable. The gas mileage has been terrific and it handles very smoothly.

Consistent 30mpg (with Max AC on usually in city traffic), comfortable seats, tons of trunk space, acceleration is a bit slow but my previous car was a Hyundai Tiburon. Excellent safety ratings.
I recommend improving the mileage even more by getting "green" tires like the Michelin HydroEdge with Green X. It's a low resistance tire which I think could probably improve mpg a few more as well.
