It's been a month. My Rio looks fantastic with the black body moldings. People who got stuck with one of the older-model all-white cars look at my car with envy ("Oh, they added the black...") The beige interior took some getting used to. It was too bright at first, since I'd been driving a dark car for several years. Now, I like it. The car seems roomy, airy, bright. The instrument panel looks dinky. Let's be honest, my 2001 Hyundai had a more high-tech looking instrument panel and there was nothing high-tech about my Hyundai! Still, it's growing on me. It's retro. The brakes and steering are reliable and responsive. I rented a Kia Rio while my Hyundai's brakes were getting fixed. The Kia rental reminded me of how solidly brakes should perform. That's my Rio! The turning radius is tight, so I can get in and out of some narrow situations. I upgraded the tires to Pirelli P5s and this baby hugs the road and handles like a dream. I also upgraded the sound system. Now, Austin traffic doesn't seem so bad. I just love driving my Rio! I try to be green and conserve gas, but I have to admit that the first week I got it, I would go on midnight drives just because I loved being in my Rio. I was thinking of going for a drive last night. That should say it all!
priced for a low budget, runs good so far and stylish
Pros- Good car for anyone looking for a first car on a budget, Nice design interior, perfect for someone who is short to average height, $20 dollars for full gas tank most of the time, speakers sounds good, Car heats up in 15 mins or less and liked the no cup holder idea. Cons- LOTS of cargo noise, little car gets blinded by everyone's beaming lights, takes a minute to get into driving fast, Car slides bad during winter, and even on Eco gas can still get away from you.
