I may have a car payment for 6 yrs but I gave up a 99 Mazda for this one. 30 miles to the gal is very good. You should check this type of car out. Wouldn't be disappointed. I always had a old car but this new car is perfect for me and my wife. Great choose.

Nice little Rio

We bought a nice little Rio for my wife, and she loves it! It seems really well buit, and loooks great. It has a very small driver space, so a person over 5' 10" will be too cramped on longer drives, but no problem in town or short commutes. The Rio only has 110 HP, so no jack-rabbit take-offs, but it does keep up on 75 mph interstate runs, and went up the mountain to Cripple Creek Colo. pretty easy (about 9,000 Ft.). The gas mileage is great, and with the small engine, you won't be as likely to speed. Registered it with KIA motors for the 60/60,000 warranty, they seemed supportive, easy to contact.

Wish I Hadn't Bought It

It's "cute" - it's "snappy," easy to zip in and out of parking, traffic and that's the only good thing I have to say about the 2009 Kia Rio. What's wrong: horrible and unsafe braking system - do not even think about trying to drive this car in snow/ice or rain. How I know - I was one of the few cars that was fish-tailing all over the interstate when we got a ice and snow storm. You could not apply even the slightest touch to the brake. My ONLY choice was to slam into he stopped car in front of me or, ever-so-lightly, touch the brake to avoid the rear end ad then slide sideways on the iersate (at no time was I going over 15 miles an hour). Yhis occurs because the Rio (at least mine) has very, very graby brakes. It is completely unsafe on ice or snow - maybe even heavy rain - don't know about that yet! Seat options are pathetic, no auto door locks so you have to go around to every door and lock them separately - good luck unlocking the back doors, I didn't think I would miss auto windows- oh yes you do!! Gas mileage isn't as good as one would have thought being such a small stripped down model. Where's the temp indicator? I will never recommed this care to anyone and I am so sad that it was recommended to me and that someone didn't talk me out of it. Cheap, yes - good deal NO!!!!!!
