Prior to buying the Rondo we had a Subaru Forester which we were very happy with but, when it came time to replace it, wanted a more economical car without giving up versatility and space. We researched the Rav4, the CRV, and the Elantra along with the Rondo. The 3rd seat (we have 8 grand kids that are 6 and under), visibility, safety, and reasonable gas mileage for the size of the car sold us.
We have been pleasantly surprised in that we average 28 to 30 miles to the gallon in normal driving conditions. The car rides great, is quiet, and responsive. We have fit 6 adults and 1 infant in the car comfortably. We would buy another in a heart beat, but unfortunately Kia is not making the Rondo for the US market anymore. We have talked to several other Rondo owners and they are as sold as we are.

After a couple of hours, I found the drivers seat to be uncomfortable. Needed more back support. A lumbar cushion fixed that. I am getting around 20MPG in town, which is 90% of my driving. I had hoped for a little better, but guess that is OK. The car handles well and overall I am very pleased.

We were looking for a car/van that sat 7 passengers. With two small children in carseats, we wanted a car that could carry all of us, plus grandparents if needed. We looked at minivans but their mileage is just terrible and we could only afford one that was over 5 years old. We considered the Mazda 5, but the third row simply didn't look safe. With my Rondo, I can fit 6 people comfortably, we average 24 mpg, I can park it on a dime, and even though it's a used car it's still under the original manufacturer's warranty. We are VERY happy with this purchase. My one criticism is the upholstery is a very light beige that is easy to get dirty.
