We really wanted a vehicle that drove like a car but could function like an SUV, and mini-vans weren't stylish enough. The Rondo provides a comfy ride for us (a tall couple), our friends, our dog, and our groceries. Our cats even seem to like it! It sits low to the ground but provides plenty of headroom; so you don't have to climb up or bend over just to get in/out. If you should happen to also have a sunroof, you barely notice you're in a car. It is the most comfortable riding experience as well as driving experience either of us has ever had, and it doesn't have trouble picking up the pace...even when it's loaded with heavy things and creatures. We've had ours for a year now, and we couldn't be happier.
We bought a 2008 Kia Rondo EX around 11 months ago and a 2009 Kia Rondo LX 2 months ago. I have over 40 years of experience with cars and have never encountered such a quality difference between two variations of the same car. If we had bought the LX first, we would not have purchased another Kia. We are pretty happy with out Rondo EX and generally disappointed with the LX.
Big enuf for 6'1''driver, lots of comfort (door post not in way to get in, driver seat pumps up, lots of head/leg room, back seats have real room, fast AC), small enuf to park downtown (no longer than my old camry), easy to drive (enuf power with 6 cyl to merge/scoot, tighter turning radius than camry), room to haul lots of stuff in back with easy fold down seats. No digital control screen (could care less). Plugs in - yup, front & back. Looks like every other crossover - Lexus, Rav,etc but no head turner. Negs? Listed as a station wagon (ignor that, its a crossover and sits up higher than sedans), roof rack but no crossbars, gas mileage normal 22/28 but wish it were better, no cargo bay liner, floor matts cheap and ill fitting, no window tinting. All of which is easy to live with/fix. Overall, a best price car in its category. Yea Kia!
