My Kia Rondo has exceeded my expectations. I had a Rav 4 previously, which I loved. I wanted something similar but a bit less expensive. The Rondo is a perfect fit for my family and I. The third row seat is small, but very convenient for short trips to the park or store with a couple extra kids. The outside looks small, but inside is so roomy. I can finally take my dog places when I have the kids in the car. She loves the back seat. Even being a 4 cylinder- performance is a lot better than the Rav 4. The seats are very comfortable. The amount of storage and cup holders are very well placed. I couldn't be happier about my choice. We'll see how it holds up over the years!
The car has the absolute perfect layout and is a fantastic value. I would like for the car to have tie-offs so that groceries don't go flying when I rip around a corner. The fittings are cheesey and pick up is not what one would hope, but I knew that when I bought the car. As examples, there is a groaning sound when I unlock all the doors, mirror movement is jerky, there are minor rattles, and an unsolid overall feeling. Also, the defroster actually kicks mist onto the windshield. However, it is a great car for what I can afford. I love the styling, and as I mentioned the layout makes it extremely practical for schlepping either people or building supplies.
We got the car thinking it would be great as we got the model with the third row for our Grandchildren. It worked great as they are all under 80 pounds. However it would never work for an adult. The problem is that the car is falling apart. Three or four weeks into having the car the roof rail fell off. Don't know where, it was just was gone when we got home. Now another problem is happening. The emergency brake is not working. I'm hoping that it is under warranty, but since it is a brake I am not sure. The power is pretty good for a four cylinder, the gas mileage is just so so. The gas cap door doesn't shut well unless you really push it well. Ether that or this car is really a target for gas stealing.
