My Kia Sorento saved my life on December 15, 2014. I bought it because of it's safety rating. I have never been in an accident prior so I experienced what it is like to be in a major collision in my Sorento. The car responded amazingly with braking and my attempts to avoid the accident. The driver air bag deployed to protect me and I walked away with literally only 1 scratch. The best purchase I ever made.
Lots of features, a great price, no trouble so far

After driving it for 3 months we're very happy with it! We compared it to a Honda CR-V and Toyota Rav-4. The three cars are similar and all pretty good; we chose the Kia because it had space for a third row but did not have the option; so had a larger storage area. We also liked the features: rear-view camera, AWD, bluetooth calling, heated seats. Consumer Reports gave the Sorento a "recommended" rating every year before and after 2011. For 2011 they apparently did not review it. Since then, they consider the 2011 a "do not buy" based on the number of repairs that have been reported. So far the car has had no problems. I wish we found a 6-cyl engine at this price. The 4-cyl works pretty hard pushing a big vehicle up to highway speed.
Just what we were looking for.

Before purchasing this car we spoke to a mechanic and asked what his thoughts were on this car. He said that they are very good cars with minimal problems. They have improved greatly since they began selling these cars.
The price was right.
It costs less than $40 dollars to fill this car with gas. I get approximately 400 miles each time I fill it up.
I am on the petite side and I find that it fits me very well. My husband on the other hand would like a bigger model SUV. I love how it handless he road for me.
This car has the third row of seats (it is a bit tight in the back) which was another thing I was looking for, so another item on my checklist was checked off. It has air vents in the back so it is comfortable in that way.
Compact SUVs are popular right now, and with good reason. With road manners more like those of a car than a traditional SUV, they’re comfortable and easy to drive. In addition, their liftgates and folding back seats provide lots of cargo space, and the high seating position gives good visibility.
