I'm a big fan of the Kia Soul. It's fun to drive, economical, reliable, enormously cute, the back seats fold down flat creating a very usable cargo space, and you can find it in a parking lot. That being said, there are a few things about my Soul that are not so great: The microfiber upholstery shows everything and stains easily, the ride is not as smooth and quiet as many other automobiles, and there is a blind spot toward the rear (but you can learn to compensate for that). I have looked at a 2015 Soul and been astonished at the changes in the model from prior years. Some of the bells and whistles available on the new models are downright luxurious - leather upholstery, heated AND cooled seats, full ceiling sun roofs, GPS, etc.
Love: - The quirky body style - The sunroof (optional, obviously) - The lighted speakers that flash with the music - The seat style - The general look of it - The roomy cargo (once you put the seats down, otherwise, you have pretty much none.) Hate: - How LOUD it is on the highway.... wow. - The stupid commercials that everyone who sees the car feels SO ORIGINAL when they bring it up. - She's not very peppy in terms of pickup. But once she gets up to speed she does fine.
It's a fun car to drive- zippy and compact its much more fun than a sports car. All the extra gadgets like the lighted speakers and back up camera just to mention a few will make you feel like you are in an expensive car. On top of that the fuel economy is awesome- visits to the pump don't make me cry as with previous cars!
