The Kia Spectra is a trap. Make sure you have an extended warranty because you will need it. They run fine until about 40K and then...they fall apart. Longevity is not one of the options.
My Kia had these problems, which cost me time going back and forth to service it. None of the problems were actually ever fixed. I just traded it to get rid of it once and for all. Gas gauge did not read properly (had 300 miles on a trip and the gauge said full), locks did not function properly (locked out), very loud wind noise from both doors, cutting out on the highway and during idle, random idle at 2000 RPM when in park.
So, do yourself a favor. Buy something else.

I love my Kia Spectra 2008!
Great gas mileage and dependability.
I have 2 large dogs, over 100 pounds each. They easily fit in my backseat-together!

Such a good car. After driving much higher priced cars and much larger cars, I am in love with small economy cars! Does exactly what my Acura did for me but with a much lower payment, much cheaper to maintain, better on gas and a perfect fit for me and my family. My Wife has a mid-sized suv and we (family of 4) take my Spectra everywhere. Plenty of room for front seat passengers and the kids are very happy in the back. Mine is a 5-spd so I think it's much more fun to drive than an automatic and compared to the rest of cars I was looking at, I couldn't pass up the Spectra. If you don't need the status symbol of a much more expensive car, the Spectra is worth looking at.
