I purchased my MKT new in March of 2010, loaded with every option except the power 3rd row seats (mine are manually operated). I have about 38K miles now and have had only one issue to be repaired under warranty...a control module in the transmission that affected the 'radar' cruise control and the transmission. Other than that the car has been perfect. The Ecoboost engine give you incredible power, from acceleration to passing it is hard to imagine a 3.5 L. V-6 giving you so much. While I test drove other models with the standard engine, which if fine, the Ecoboost makes a huge difference in power. The ride is firm, yet comfortable, the only 'ding' is the 3rd row seating which can only be inhabited by Munchkins or very small children. Handling is great considering this is a 5K lb SUV Crossover. Braking is strong and consistent. The 'radar' cruise control option is incredible...I can use it in rush hour traffic commuting in Dallas...it adjusts speed to the traffic, applying brakes as needed. A great option to have. The self parking feature works well, though I have used it only a couple of times. Due to the rear roof line the storage space (& 3rd row head room) is not as great as you would think. But...I like the styling and for me the trade off is worthwhile. Overall I am very happy with my MKT. It has been the most reliable car I have owned and I highly recomend it for consideration.
I was looking for a luxery car that had most of the newer electronic options. This 2011 MKT has all the bells and whistles anyonw would need or enjoy. The vehicle handles great and the economy isn't the best but was what I expected by checking on the vehicle reports and comments from other owners before I purchased it.
I've had nothing but problems since I bought it. The A/C system went out shortly after purchase, then the vehicle continued to fail to start and nobody could figure out why. Now the transmission appears to be out. I've had the car for less than a year.
