I needed something larger to transport kids and their friends, I dreaded getting a new car because I am really not a big car kind of person. I test drove Infiniti, Acura, Honda and nothing came close to the Mazda! For being as large as it is, it is actually quite zippy and not a bore to drive! The space inside is amazing and it is easy to maneuver the seats. It has a lot of creature comforts, and all in all is just a really nice vehicle. I could not be happier. This was my first Mazda, but will not be my last.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Black Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (0 reviews) When comparing against its competitors, the CX-9 is a relatively small sales volume car and is priced less. Plenty of power, plenty of amenities, and much more space in the rear than you would imagine. A great traveling car. I'm 6'5", and the front seat roof height is still OK, though close. The 2nd row rear seats have more room than my XJ-8 and the 3rd row seats are actually usable.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Black Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.546 reviews) Has all of the features we needed. Can comfortably fit adults in 3rd row seat. Has plenty of power, even when hauling trailer. Middle row seats fold almost flush, is like truck bed with topper but also has luggage rack up top. Overall great car. I don't like the mpg with awd version. Would get 2wd of I had a do over.

Transmission: Automatic Color:White Interior Color: Tan Average Vehicle Review: (4.476 reviews) Even being a 4400lbs 3rd row seat SUV, I was surprised of the car-like handling and ride. The steering is light and inputs are responsive. The 273HP V-6 is smooth and mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission that makes use of the power by keeping the revs up when accelerating.

Very happy with the CX-9

We read many good things about the Mazda Cx-9, and it didnt' disappoint. We are very happy with it. Pros: It handles really well for it size, steering feel is excellent, and also has great power. We also really like how the interior is layout and it's simply very well-built. While not a huge fan of the smiley face, the cx-9 does have a very shape and looked very sporty. It is also quite spacious inside. Not as spacious as a Pilot, but still not bad at all. Bluetooth for phone is also included for all trim. Cons: The gas mileage is just average, but all the other cars in its class have similar number anyway. Also a common problem with most big SUV--rear visibility is limited by the 3rd row seats.

Great Family Vehical

The CX-9 is a great family car. Lot's of room but actually has a smaller footprint in the garage than our prior sedan. The fold down seats are easy to operate. The car has a smooth ride, with responsive steering and brakes - a great driving experience. We weren't sure about the black leather interior but have really liked it, the leather doesn't show marks and it's just looks clean more than our lighter interiored vehicles. The heated seats and the heater warm up very quickly. Just finished our first long trip (6 hours) averaged about 20mpg (full load of cargo) and thorougly enjoyed the car. Great option for those that don't want a mini van but have a family.

Big Car, Small Drive

My wife and I have loved this car since we bought it. We traded in an Expedition because we no longer needed to tow a boat but still had four children to tote around and wanted something that would fit everyone. We looked at Minivans, and other crossovers and finally decided on this for a lot of reasons. It was cool looking, had great features including navigation, leather and power liftgate. It felt like we were sitting in a much luxurious car than frankly I would have expected from Mazda (sorry I underestimated them!), we liked it better that the Lexus or Infinity models of the same size. This car is very roomy and huge on the inside, but when you drive it it feels like you are driving a much smaller vehicle. It has good acceleration and is quick in lane changing. It has a smaller steering wheel, with a little bit of oversteer that makes it feel more like driving a sports car. We recently took this car from Virginia to Florida putting about 2000 miles on the car with 4 kids and luggage. It was a pleasure! We had enough room for our luggage behind the third row, but brought a Thule car carrier anyway and attached it to the roof that we really only used when we stocked up on groceries for the beach house on the way down to Florida. Some have complained about the gas mileage, BUT when compared to the 14 MPG we were getting from the Expedition the 22-23 MPG we have been averaging is a HUGE difference. It is an SUV after all. On top of everything else, this car was one of the highest rated across the board by Consumer Reports and has lived up to its billing. Mazda has built a great product in the CX-9 and all I can say is Zoom-zoom!!
