Let's put it this way, there is no comparable crossover that gets close to the CX7 at the same price. The Murano is as close as it gets to the CX7 but you need to add 3-5K more to get one and personally I still prefer the CX7 in its handling and semi-automatic drive mode. Comfort is great, the features available on the "Sport" version (entry level) are fantastic, you really do NOT need to buy any higher version unless having a sunroof or having fog lights is important for you. The engine is amazing (I have the 2007 version which only came in Turbo) and you can pass any other suvs in a breeze, even/especially on a steep incline. The 6 speed auto transmission shifts extremely fast and makes this crossover both comfortable and very sporty if you want to go that way. It's also a very functional vehicle (remember when you had to open the rear doors to flip a sit down...? no need to do that with the CX7 where you can do that conveniently from the trunk). Mileage is pretty standard for this size and horsepower: you should expect an average of 21mpg (mixed driving with more side streets than highway driving). My max ever was 24mpg average... Maintenance is reasonable with $55 service at the dealership for synthetic blend oil change + typical inspection. Watch out though, no mineral oil and no regular gas: only synthetic blend (or full synthetic but not needed and more expensive). Premium fuel only... mandatory on any car with turbo. More expensive at the pump, but better mileage and cleaner engine operation + more power. Not a single issue with mine so far, at 44,000 miles so far and just the standard maintenance has been great. One plus for this crossover is that you will never have to have that $1000 service at 80K/90K to replace the timing belt: it has a timing chain (far superior system that can NOT break and therefore does not need replacement). That by itself will easily save you $500 one day. Good luck in your purchase, you will not regret buying a CX7, it is awesome. I hope these lines will have helped you know more about it.
