I had not practiced what I preached, until now. I would tell anyone that was thinking of buying a car to go to Mazda; I was a proponent and a outspoken believer but had not used them until now. I finally needed a car and now Im living the exhilarating rush that is the Mazda (zoom zoom) experience. The Car I was after was the Mazda C-X 9. This is highly rated vehicle (Consumer Reports) had less than 15,000 miles, it feels, looks and smells like new. I would do it again in a heartbeat. A perfect car for the family.
This car is great and drives so well. We've fit 8 people easily and expect to do so again. It handles and accelerates well, I feel very safe in it. The only strikes against it is limited cargo space, since if all seats are occupied it barely holds the weekly grocery shopping, and it is not as easy to park as my former car, a Jeep. But the back up mirror helps a lot and I'm getting used to maneuvering it. I've already recommended it to many people and sing its praises regularly.
The Mazda CX9 is a great option for the family not ready to make the leap to the mini van. With the 3 row seating it can seat up to 7 comfortably with cargo space to spare behind the 3rd row. Its great for our family where we need to accommodate a baby and a large dog along with outdoor gear for camping, etc. Its not the most economical on gas mileage. It is rated into the 20s mpg range highway but rarely seems to get over 20. The AWD is great for winters and it corners and handles like a large sports car compared to ther cross overs or SUVs I have driven.
