My main goal in purchasing the car was to have enough room for the three kids and a friend or two while getting out of the minivan mode. The mazda cx-9 fit my requirements perfectly. My only complaint is that I wish it got better gas mileage as I drive 45 miles a day to and from work. The Bose sound system was very disappointing and is terribly flat when listening to the radio and is a little better when listening to the cd. I don't have satelite radio, although it is equiped for it. The ride is wonderful, manuevers in and out of traffic well, and is comfortable to ride in. All in all, its a great car, fits all my kids and their friends, still has cargo room, and rides comfortably and quietly.
I love my Mazda CX-9! I needed something larger to transport kids and their friends, I dreaded getting a new car because I am really not a big car kind of person. I test drove Infiniti, Acura, Honda and nothing came close to the Mazda! For being as large as it is, it is actually quite zippy and not a bore to drive! The space inside is amazing and it is easy to maneuver the seats. It has a lot of creature comforts, and all in all is just a really nice vehicle. I could not be happier. This was my first Mazda, but will not be my last.
The Mazda CX-9 is a great/fun driving vehicle. You have to be careful getting in if you are over 5'10 because you might bump your head. But I found out that's pretty typical on most Crossovers. The listed MPG is off. Best I've been able to get is 15 City/22 Hwy. Not the 18/24 as listed. The BOSE system is pretty good, but if you like a little Thump in the ride, you will have to do something else. So far, on long trips, it has been very comfortable. I've had it about 6 weeks and put about 4k miles on it. I love it. Only thing I would change would be get the 19" rims for a smoother ride. 20" rims make it a little rough, but sporty feel.
