My wife and I owned a 2008 Mazda 3 for almost two years and were the sole owners of the vehicle. During the summer months the car ran great and got around just fine. Good handling and fun to drive a 5-speed. Only downfall we had with it was the A/C went out on it in the first year due to a computer glitch which was luckily still covered. The other downside was the car is so light weight that with the rapidly changing weather in the KCMO metropolitain area, often times the car had trouble getting around the city with the ice/snow. I guess you could have that problem with most small cars but just something specific we noticed with this one. Our last problem with the car was that it was too small for both my wife and I and a carseat in the back. Whichever seat the carseat was behind had to have their knees in the dash. So if you're kid-less or they're grown up enough to sit in the seat with a seatbelt, then no worries.

I bought a 2008 Mazda 3 for my daughter and she just loves the car. The car is basic without power windows or cruise control. It has good handling and the stopping power is good. The gas mileage is adequate and the car is easy to maintain. I would recommend this car for a college student or someone getting their first car.
