I been very impressed with the way this vehicle handles. Its only a 4 cylinder, but is sure does not fell like it. Great on gas milage, pleanty of cargo space, especially with being able to lay the back seats down for more cargo room. Very happy with this purchase. Perfect vehicle for a family of 4. Has enough room to seat 6 very compfortably.
My Mazda5 replaced a 12 year old minivan which had served us well. Thrilled to have downsized to a smaller, more fuel efficient, nimble vehicle. I knew I didn't want a sedan, since as an adult, I am never that comfortable in the 3 across backseat, especially for longer car trips and I wanted more cargo room. What I especially love about the Mazda5 is that the backseat has two very comfortable bucket seats. Four adults could ride comfortably in this car! We are 2 adults and 2 teenagers and we all find this to be more comfortable than a minivan with bench seating in the rear. Two additional 3rd row seats can pop up if you need them - but those are very limited in legroom. If you mostly have 4 passengers, and only occasionally have 5 or 6, then this is a very comfortable car. With the 3rd row seats down, there is a lot of cargo space in the rear. And each seat can fold down individually, even the 2nd row, so you can be very flexible in your cargo space. This is like a microvan, the two rear side doors slide open like a van. This works great. If you want something smaller than a minivan, that gets better mileage than the bigger, heavier crossovers, this car is great!
Good car if you want more room but still want to get over 20mpg. I'm averaging about 25, and longer trips seem to push up the average. Sliding side doors and fold-down seats are great features. Good power considering the 4-cylinder engine and nice styling.
