I was a little apprehensive at first about looking at these cars because of their size. I am 6 ft and can comfortably drive this car. I love this car. It is very fun to drive and has surprising performance. One downside is the manual transmission. I have a 6 spd. and it seems that the gearing isn't aligned quite right and "kicks back" sometimes going into 2nd gear. The only other downside I have found is that most fo the interior is plastic (i.e. door panels, console, etc.) and the plastic seems to scratch easy. So be careful. Otherwise enjoy. These cars have a massive following and I get people honking at me all the time or just saying what a cool car it is. Find a local Miata club near you and you wont regret it.
Debated between miata & bmw Z3. Of course bmw had more puch in take off, but pretty impressed with miata handling and power for it's little size & with less cost. Although, the one I purchased had many extras and custome electronics which thrilled me. Touch screen, navi, dvd, srs, usb port, keyless start. You could even watch and control movies, navi, anything while in drive mode! Do not reccommed, just shocked this was possible. Only thing I would improve on is, shifting into second seem to drag slightly and did not realize they do not come with a spare, no room! Came with a fix a flat kit. Lastly trunk should have been designed so that one could at least take golf clubs. You will not be dissapointed especially for the price. I live in the bay area so I am definately enjoying a convertable for most of the year. Enjoy
I really love the MX-5. A great value for the money. It's a small car, so good acceleration with only the four cylinder. Handling is excellent, Mazda has done a wonderful job. Soft top is easy to put up and down, no hassle at all. The Bose stereo system is nice. Obviously, there is very little storage in the MX-5, but I bought it knowing I wanted a fun car, not a minivan.
