Built for fun, this little car is lightweight with an aluminum hood and drop top, giving me good gas mileage. The turn radius is impressive and the compact size means I can park anywhere. The drop top is manual and takes only seconds to unlock, folding in behind the seats, I don't lose my trunk space or wait for a motor to do it for me, instant open and close. Being a base model I have the options to change the appearance to match my style. The sound system is adequate, the cup holders are in the only possible place they can fit which is awkward but still functional. Classy and fun, this little car is a sweet treat meant to be enjoyed.
- Beautiful styling outside and in - Awesome hard-top that doesn't take away any of the (already limited) space - This car sticks to the road like crazy. Driving it on switchbacks in Malibu and in the San Gabriel Mountains was a complete blast. - The only affordable and reliable (check Consumer Reports) convertible on the market
There's nothing like a roadster for excellent cornering and maneuvering, but I believe the Miata to be the best roadster I've driven. Had a Toyota MR2 Spyder prior to this, which I dearly loved, but the Miata is more refined - the steering and braking are like glue on velvet. In terms of comfort, this car is a great fit for a short/petite person like me. All the controls are easily within reach and I never feel cramped. Dashboard is great - traditional yet sporty - none of that crazy futuristic stuff. With major road bumps, you'll hear loud bangs inside the cabin, but you will also notice that road bumps will not bounce you or sway you in this car, like in other cars. It handles dips in the road with unbelievable stability.
