Such a fun little car. I look forward to finding an empty windy road whenever I can and just throwing it into the corners. The sense of confidence it provides and how solid and planted it feels in all conditions. Slowing down for a corner seems so antiquated now. I do have to think twice about making any purchase as the cargo space is extremely limited. Also the interior does get a bit loud on a rough road since with the convertible soft top you are basically driving in a drum. I don't believe there is such a thing as a perfect car, but this is as close as it gets. The few downsides are minor compared to all of the benefits such as Japanese reliability and the sense of fun this car distills in you.
very fun car to drive. handles the road like no other car i know or have ever owned. i owned my 2003 miata for 10 years until i decided it was time to just own 1 vehicle. since my truck was my everyday ride i recently sold my miata to carmax. the miata is engineered so simple without the frills you see in most cars today. just a well built car that will last years if you take care of it. my miata called for premium gas so i contacted mazda and they said it was safe to use regular but i wouldnt get the same performance. i didnt notice a difference as i opted for the cheaper gas. i do miss my miata and may eventually buy another one from carmax when the time is right.
Fun to drive, good fuel economy, reliable. This is my second Miata, they make great commuter cars as well as fun weekend toys - they're reliable, the handling is great, and the look good. They are smaller than a typical sedan, so they don't have a lot of interior space or luggage space. Obviously, you should make sure you fit comfortably and can see out of it before buying. Similarly if you have to haul kids around, or a lot of parcels every day, then a two seat roadster might not be the right car for you. Fuel economy is pretty good, I'm getting mid-20's to low 30's depending on how much town and open road driving I'm doing. It's not the highest mpg rating but it's pretty good for a sports car.
